The Tarrant County Democratic Party has formally challenged the ballot filings of dozens of Republican candidates, citing widespread statutory noncompliance, significant breakdowns in basic filing procedures and other mistakes that make their petitions invalid under Texas law.

Fiercely independent Texans do not want Republicans controlling every aspect of our lives while snatching funding for healthcare and education from hard working Americans to stuff the pockets of billionaires. The people of Tarrant County are ready for leadership that governs fairly and equitably, instead of the disastrously failed GOP politicians who are running roughshod over the people. We are bringing the fight for democracy and decency to Tarrant County, to save this county, this state, and this country.

It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve as Chair of the Tarrant County Democratic Party. Today, I submit my resignation, effective upon the election of my successor at a special election scheduled for Monday, July 7, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. Until that time, I will remain fully active and committed to the responsibilities of this office.
