The Tarrant County Democratic Party has appointed Emeri Callaway as its new Volunteer Coordinator, a position focused on strengthening volunteer engagement and grassroots organizing throughout Tarrant County.

Callaway has experience supporting campaigns and advocacy efforts at the local, state and federal levels, additionally she is a senior political science student at the University of North Texas. In this new role, they will work closely with party leadership, committee chairs, precinct leaders and volunteers  — to recruit, train, engage and place volunteers in meaningful opportunities across the organization.

The Volunteer Coordinator position was created to help expand the party’s volunteer capacity, strengthen community engagement, and ensure volunteers are connected with activities that match their interests, skills and availability.

“Emeri brings energy, organizational talent, and a deep commitment to grassroots engagement,” said Reyne Telles, Executive Director of the Tarrant County Democratic Party. “Their experience and passion for building community will help strengthen our efforts to organize, mobilize and win elections across Tarrant County.”

“I am excited to help connect people with opportunities to make a difference,” Callaway said. “Volunteers are the heart of our party and the driving force for the meaningful change we will see come November,” they added. 

Callaway is dedicated to empowering young leaders, strengthening community engagement and helping build a more representative and engaged Tarrant County. The Volunteer Coordinator position is a part-time paid position reporting to the Executive Director of the party.
