2024 Democratic Primary
Meet Your Candidates
Why bother with primaries?
All candidates are listed in alphabetical order. They may appear in a different order on your ballot. Not all candidates may appear on your ballot.
Primary elections are weird. They’re a little too insider-y, something TV talking heads and your neighbors with all the yard signs get excited about, but not something you, a regular person, needs to worry about. After all, you vote when it really matters, right?
What if…you’re looking at it the wrong way?
In a primary election, you vote your heart.

What primary elections really are is the first chance that we, the voters—the people—have to choose representatives who actually represent us. From our president to our courtrooms to our neighborhood patrol, primaries are the first step in creating a representative democracy. The people we choose now will be the people we ask the country to vote for in November.
So right now, it’s time to look at who you really are, think about what you want from a political party, and use your vote to tell the Party what you care about. Are you happy with the status quo, or do you vote for “none of the above”? Do you prefer centrist policies, or do you support progressive candidates? You can tweet about it all day long, but no one is gonna hear you unless you speak with a ballot.
