Every odd numbered year Tarrant County Commissioners Court appoints Presiding Judges and Alternate Judges throughout Tarrant County to represent the Democratic Party and Republican Party at 300+ Polling Centers throughout Tarrant County. They will be appointed as Presiding or Alternate Judges based on the voting outcome of the last Gubernatorial General Election and serve as a minimum at Primary Elections – First Tuesday in March; Municipal and Special Elections – First Saturday in May; and, General Elections – First Tuesday in November. The hours are 6:00 am through 8:00 pm.
Training will be provided to new judges. Even if you haven’t been a judge before you will be trained and provided with all the resources you need.
On behalf of Tarrant County Democratic Party (TCDP) I am reaching out to individuals registered to vote in Tarrant County who are available to serve for the next two year election cycle (August 1, 2021 through July 31, 2023).
Appointed Presiding Judges will serve in the supervisory position at each election. Appointed Alternate Judges will serve in a supervisory position in Primary Elections. They will assist the Presiding Judge prior to polls opening, after polls close; and, serve in the capacity of a Clerk during the Municipal and General Elections.
All Appointed Judges will be asked to locate and maintain a person to serve as their Alternate Judge during Primary Elections; as well as at least three Clerks.
If you are available to serve and have not contacted the TCDP Election Judge Recruitment and Support Committee to accept a new appointment over the last two months, or you would like to serve please do so by clicking on this link to fill out a Google form.
Thank you in advance.
