Tarrant Democrats seek candidate for newly created 485th District Court

As noted in the Fort Worth Star Telegram, the Texas State Legislature recently created the new 485th Judicial District Court. The Tarrant County Democratic Party has now been notified by the Secretary of State that Tarrant Democrats have the opportunity to nominate a candidate for this court.

While we are not surprised Governor Abbott has appointed a noted conservative Republican to serve in the seat, who has been endorsed by far right extremists such as former State Senator Konni Burton, we are looking forward to the opportunity to nominate and elect a new, fair-minded judge who will serve all those in Tarrant County.

The Tarrant County Democratic Party will be taking candidate nominations online until Sunday, August 21st at 5pm and the nominee will be elected at a meeting of the County Executive Committee on Tuesday, August 23rd. Candidates may apply here.
