I oppose Proposition 8 because it unnecessarily limits the tax policy decisions of future lawmakers in the name of prohibiting estate and inheritance taxes. There has been no attempt in Texas to implement this type of tax. Additionally, these taxes would only affect the very wealthiest taxpayers.
