The constitutional amendment to increase the amount of the exemption of residence homesteads from ad valorem taxation by a school district from $100,000 to $140,000.

I was a joint-author of and support Proposition 13 because it increases the homestead exemption by $40,000. The homestead exemption is one of the most equitable methods of property tax relief and this increase will provide significant and necessary property tax relief to Texas homeowners.
